Margaret,

The back is a tough place to wash in the shower and itching can just be your body telling you that you missed an area!

Or it could be you may be suffering from irritant contact dermatitis - this condition is caused due to an itchy reaction to perfumes, soaps, cosmetics, detergents etc.

Its best to find out what the cause is before jumping on a "remedy" as you can stop it in an instant when you discover and then remove the cause.

If you've tried everything and nothing seems to fix it, a little vinegar (white wine or cider vinegar is best) is actually very good at stopping an itch, if you can put up with the smell, which soon goes away. Watch out as it may sting a little at first, so try it on a very small area to make sure you don't get an adverse reaction.

If in doubt about anything concerning your health, you should consult your doctor.

I have an itchy back that drives me wild. Can't seem to find anything that will help. I read that stinging nettles capsules would do the job. Please advise.
