The silent killer in this sense is hypertension, or high blood pressure.
This is something that one in four middle aged adults suffers with but many people simply have no idea they are one of them. You see, there are no visible or physical symptoms associated with high blood pressure until it’s too late.
The result could be artery or organ damage, stroke or heart attack, which is how high blood pressure came to be known as The Silent Killer.
